MAIN FUNCTION
To ensure that all procurement and disposal activities are conducted in compliance with the Public Procurement and Disposal of Assets Act while adopting best practices of procurement and supply chain management in order to obtain value for money.
SPECIFIC DUTIES:
Vetting and modifying specifications/Bill of Quantities/Description of services submitted by user divisions.
Drafting and issuing tender documents. Supporting the Internal Procurement and Disposal Committee (IPDC) in tender opening.
Coordinating the preparation and submission of presentations for IPDC approval.
Supervising the maintenance of procurement files for all processed transactions.
Supervising the sourcing of quotations from suppliers.
Advising the warehouse on all created purchase orders for goods.
Preparing periodic reports on implementation of the Annual .
Procurement and Disposal Plan Submitting progress reports to Procurement Manager on status of transactions submitted for further vetting and approval to other Government agencies.
Reporting to Procurement Manager on status of procurements being handled and on completed procurements.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
A minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in Procurement & Logistics/ Supply Chain Management or Graduate/Professional Diploma in Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS).
Those with a Master’s Degree in Procurement, Logistics or Supply Chain Management will have an added advantage.
Must be duly registered with the Malawi Institute of Procurement and Supply (MIPS).
At least 5 years’ experience in a similar role.
